Mannaseh Gumah led all scorers by finishing with a solid 19 points to help the COHENEL Warriors win 65-12 against the Bromley Pythons at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
Coached at one of the leading LSB Academies over at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (COHENEL), Mannaseh proved his dominance from early on in the game when he secured 9 of his points in the first half to ensure COHENEL were up 32-9 going into the third period.
In addition to Mannaseh, Lazaros Plepi was also a threat to the Pythons who seemed to struggle to lock him down and stop him from banking his 11 points overall.
Despite COHENEL gaining a comfortable lead, this didn’t seem to bother the Bromley Pythons, who are still a relatively young team in the Community Basketball League.
Bromley’s Fidelis Iwu, Emmanuel Okaa-Tigbilo and Adrew Agboola played with heart all the way through, conveying true resilience despite the loss.
The final quarter saw Mannaseh display great athleticism as he continued to attack the basket and add a further 10 points to close out the game successfully.
Game MVP, Mannaseh, said, “Every game is important to us as because we always want to improve as a team and as individuals. Although today was a comfortable win, Bromley are good competition who have challenged us to keep on getting better.”
