London Thunder’s Tyrone Iroghama is a problem. A ridiculously long-armed, athletically talented problem – but without doubt – a problem…for the rest of the U18 division.
In our CBL game of the week last weekend the ‘Drama King’ put the whole league on notice, he’s for real. In a convincing display of dunking dominance, Iroghama led his London Thunder squad to a captivating win over U18 CBL reigning champions, London Elite, 40-32.
London Thunder have been a welcomed and exciting new addition to the CBL top division and bring program pedigree, undeniable talent and disruptive intentions to London’s top grassroots platform at the U18 level. The win against London Elite sent a bolt of lightening throughout the league in announcing the arrival of a new ‘heavyweight’ contender to the coveted CBL crown, led by an explosive frontline with Iroghama at its core.
On this day the 16-year old ‘man-child’ went for an impressive double-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 rim-denying blocks that put the clamps on the Elite attack. Shooting 63% from the floor, Iroghama’s stellar performance was capped off by 3 jaw-dropping dunks, the most impressive of which was a windmill from a standing start right under the basket. He’s got bounce.
If you’re looking for talent across the city, put the Thunder team firmly on your radar. They’re for real.
