The Community Basketball League hosts the best in female talent, especially after Access2Sports and Tower Hamlets Ravens came to play in what was a thrilling game that saw A2S clinch a one-point win over the Ravens to triumph 12-11 on Sunday 27th November 2016.

Both teams kept spectators on the edge of their seats as the first half saw Raven’s Cazzie Lee Pieastro Fontanos attack the basket aggressively to enable her team to lead 6-2 going into the third.

Although, the second half saw great defensive play from both teams, A2S’s Esther Obuekwe began to find her rhythm and knock down shots to level out the score 10-11 with only seconds left on the clock.

With the game able to fall into the hands of either team, it wasn’t until Obuekwe stepped up and went to the line where her 2 points made all the difference to help Access2Sports close out the game successfully.

Islington’s MVP, Esther Obuekwe, said, “It’s a fantastic feeling to win, especially since we had to come back from being down at the half. Team work pays off and I believe we all did our part to contribute to today’s success. It’s amazing how quickly we’ve all bonded by playing basketball, and so it’s really special to celebrate as a team.”
