Panthers U14 Sharks Finals Scorecard

The Brent Panthers secured the CBL Prime U14 Boys championship with a convincing 87-67 victory over the London Sharks. In a game that highlighted the rising talent across London youth basketball, the Panthers’ team-first approach overcame a record-setting individual performance from an undeniable future star.

Daniel Oronsaye led the charge for the Panthers, earning MVP honors with a dominant all-around game. The lightning-quick guard poured in 27 points, dished out 6 assists, and nabbed 5 steals. Oronsaye’s speed and defensive pressure were constant thorns in the Sharks’ side, disrupting their offense and creating fast-break opportunities for the Panthers.

Josiah Bosire-Dixon provided strong support with 18 points and 8 rebounds, showcasing his versatility on both ends of the court. Jayden Chan added to the Panthers’ offensive firepower with 11 points while also contributing 4 steals, underlining the team’s commitment to aggressive defense.

On the Sharks’ side, Leo Bowman put on a scoring display for the ages. Despite the loss, Bowman etched his name in the CBL record books with a playoff finals high of 41 points. Panthers threw multiple defenders at him, but the athletic guard kept on rolling. Slashing to the basket, hanging in the air, drawing fouls, hitting mid-range and long bombs – he did it all in this game. His scoring outburst kept the Sharks in contention and demonstrated why he’s considered one of the most promising talents in London.

However, the Panthers’ depth and teamwork proved too much for the Sharks to overcome. Even as Bowman continued to find the basket, the Panthers’ balanced attack and suffocating defense allowed them to maintain control throughout the game.

The final score of 87-67 reflected the Panthers’ ability to execute their game plan effectively. Panthers Coach Swift set the team from Brent up well, on both sides of the ball and their team-oriented style, featuring contributions from multiple players, ultimately trumped the Sharks’ reliance on individual brilliance.

Panthers completed a successful U14 campaign overall which saw them win both the CBL Prime division and also the National League Conference London division, gaining promotion to the National League’s top flight.
