Last week, the London School of Basketball (LSB) Next Level Camp saw many talented players from the CBL who participated in two days of intense workouts run by coaches Jay Williams, Jabbar Kasim, Shernard Wilson- Morrison, and Strength and conditioning Coach Alex Ducase.
After much competition, the top players stats from the final game are as follows:
Damarni Velinor London Pulse 16pts 1 Ast
Lekan Ayemojuba Southwark Legends 13pts 1Ast
Juan Manning Activities 4U 16pts 10rbs
Wale Oladipupo Southwark Legends 19pts 12rbs 2Ast
Rhys Sundimat Kennington Generals 10pts 10rbs
Paulo London Pulse Kretteis 16pts 5rbs
Damilola Aresa Kennington Generals 15pts 5rbs
Winner of the CBL 3pt Contest
Wale Oladipupo Southwark Legends
Winner of the CBL Skills Challenge
Lekan Ayemojuba Southwark Legends
After long deliberation, the coaches have selected the top 3 players from across the two days. It is important to understand that this is based on the players’ overall performance during the evaluation period and does not reflect the players’ ability to succeed in the game of basketball.
#1. Juan Manning
6’2 SG – Excellent athlete who has good fundamentals in all facets of the game. Loves to get out in transition, looking to dunk every rim and can also set himself and team mates up in the half court game.
#2. Wale Oladipupo
5’7 PG who can flat out shoot the ball and uses his quickness to keep defenders guessing; good ball handling skills and very competitive.
#3. Matthew Allman
6’5 SG/SF plays both ends of the floor with very good athleticism, solid post game as well as mid range. Very coachable.
Honourable mentions:
Paulo Kretteis, London Pulse
Damarni Velinor, London Pulse
Damilola Aresa, Kennington Generals
Congratulations to all the players who attended. You all worked extremely hard and we hope you took something away with you that you can bring back to you team in order to be successful.
As a reward, all 3 players will be fast tracked to the elite court at Midnight Madness this summer and the #1 player Juan Manning will receive a pair of basketball shoes courtesy of NIKE.
On behalf of LSB, we would like to thank all coaches and players for coming and taking part and we will be back in the Easter holidays so stay tuned for more information.
