The Brent Ballers started the game very aggressive on the defensive side, forcing turnovers and easy fast break layups to overcome the Eastside Eagles and win 41-27 last weekend at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
The combination of Cameron Russell, Matthew-David Tate and Russell De Reoper caused a lot of problems for Eastside as a defensive trio, turning a lot of stops into points or free throw attempts.
Although Brent had more height and size, Eastside diid well to get to the basket with multiple put backs to stay in the game until the end of the 3rd quarter.
Despite a great team effort from Eastside’s K. Williams, D. Dartey, C. Obikarelu, J. James and D. Osei-Bonsu in the final period of the game, Brent stayed persistent and sustained their lead until the clock ran out.
MVP, Cameron Russell, said, “We came together and made sure to communicate well between ourselves. We feel like with the team that we have, we can make it to the finals and so will do everything we can to make that goal into a reality.”
