The Community Basketball League (CBL) are very proud to showcase the best of female basketball talent, and last weekend saw The City of London Academy (COLA) remain undefeated as its girls’ team beat Red Ravens 27-13.
COLA’s Nariah Nyack-Kaye was named the game MVP as she impressed spectators with her composure and ability to control the game, helping her team lead by more than double (16-5) going into the half.
Although Red Ravens picked up momentum in the third quarter, they were unable to lock down Nyack-Kaye who consistently attacked the basket to finish as the lead scorer with a total of 8 points overall.
Peckham’s rising star, Nyack-Kaye said, “I think my team dominated throughout and to be awarded as the MVP gives me a lot of confidence in my game. Everyone at COLA works hard and so great team chemistry really helps on the floor.”
Among the female teams, COLA in particular are proving to be tough this season as both its male and female players raise the level of competition and entertainment in the league.
