Eastside Eagles are becoming the team to beat in the Community Basketball League after another stand out performance on Sunday 31st January 2016 when their under 12 team won 39-23 over Gintaras.
The match up took place at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre where Eagles’, Oscar Striuga, impressed the crowd with his sharp shooting skills and ability to create his own shot. In the first half alone, Striuga racked up an incredible 12 points whilst team mate, Jahni Wedderburn, added 9 points to help Eagles take the lead 29-9 at the end of the half.
Alex Lartey came out firing in the third quarter to score the first basket followed by a fantastic team effort from Nicole Lavinier, Darrell Braithwaite and Eligijus Kristutis who each had 2 points in the final period to help Eagles fly away with the convincing win.
Eagles’ MVP, Oscar Striuga, said, “We stayed as a team and did everything we practiced because we wanted to be ready for this game today. Playing in the Community Basketball League is so much fun and we always make sure that we do our best.”
