The Enfield Scorpions refused to let anything come in their way of reaching this year’s Finals, and so continued their winning streak after beating London Pulse 47-30 in the CBL Playoff Semi Final on Sunday 29th May 2016.

The first half saw double trouble from Joshua Antwi and Listowell Bauchie who played well together to help Scorpions establish a five point cushion (21-16) by the end of the half.

Despite struggling to get around the Scorpions, London Pulse dominated the third quarter with big man, Will White, attacking the basket aggressively to ensure his team outscored their opponents (10-9) to keep the game tight going into the final stanza (30-26).

With both teams eager to win, strong defence from Ellis Swift-Harris limited Pulse to just 4 points, and pushed Scorpions on a run to finish strong in the fourth. With only minutes left in the game, Dane Foster-Obeng and Listowell Buachie went for back to back baskets, scoring 18 points combined in the final period to secure the win and their place in the CBL Playoff Final.

Finishing with 17 points overall, MVP Dane Foster-Obeng, said, “We played good defence which translated well into offence, and so we feel the game went really well and we came away with the W. As always, it means a lot to make the Finals and it would mean even more to finish as champions.”
