Recap
London Elite U14s kept their league-best winning streak going in the first game of the day at the CBL in Wembley with a 10 point win over the ever-improving Barnet Bulldogs. Β The team were without their leading player and possible season MVP candidate this season, Nathaniel Djangoly, but as is the way with all successful teams, when one player is out, the next steps up – which in this case, was Jad Kobongu-Mputu.
Kobongu-Mputu attacked the basket with relentless ambition all game long, enroute to his game high 18 point haul, while racking up 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block for good measure. Β Every time Barnet threatened to challenge the outcome, JK got rolling. Β Too much, too often, too good. Game over.
London Elite move up to a perfect 6-0 on the season while Barnet Bulldogs drop to 3-2, but look comfortably placed for post-season play as they hold the 3rd spot in the division.
