WOLVES MAUL BALLERS IN U18 CLASH
With no scheduled game to play against the WF Flames, A2S Wolves matched up against division rivals Brent Ballers in a non-league ‘friendly’ and managed to claw out a gutsy win (26-14) against a depleted Brent squad, who were without team leading scorer and rebounderΒ Sheyi Abgaje (11.5ppg), Kunal Magar and Jordan Khanu.
Without 3 of their key players, Brent often looked lost and unsure of what they wanted to do on both the offensive and defensive end, which will be a worrying sign for coach Ashley St Ange as the Ballers focus in on post-season play.
A2S were in control of the game from start to finish behind the strong play of Abubaker Ndikumana (11 points) or Romeo Lorenzoni (9 points) and looked the better side, despite their league positioning (7th vs 4th). Β A2S have traditionally been a CBL ‘power program’, and are the current U18 reigning CBL Champions, so expect them to make a decisive final push for post-season play in their remaining regular season games.
