The Hackney Jedis A team were finalists last season and have once again set the bar high across the league all season long, dominating the regular season and playoffs with a flawless 9-0 record and come into the game as the team to beat. However, they match up against a resurgent and resilient London Knights U10 squad, who come into the biggest game of the season strong with a 7-2 record. Both teams are well coached and have displayed exceptional talent and determination throughout the season, making this final a highly anticipated event.
The Jedis are led by their standout players Cayden Robinson and Shamar Isbor. Robinson, is a league MVP candidate and has been a consistent force for the East London outfit, averaging 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. His ability to make plays under pressure will be crucial for the Jedis in this game. Isbor, who has a notable season himself, marked by game MVP’s and high scoring outings (notching 16-points in a single game earlier this season), adds a potent scoring threat to the Hackney attack. Together, they form a duo that has been tough to contain all season long.
On the other side, the London Knights feature their own star in Dhruv Jalan. A fearless ‘rising star’ in his own right, Jalan’s 16-point MVP performance in the playoff semi-finals saw off an admirable attack by the Brent Panthers to cement his teams place in the final and himself as undoubtedly one of the top 5 players throughout the league. The Knights will need his scoring prowess and leadership on the court in this final game that will decide who reigns supreme in the U10 division.
The previous regular season matchup between these two outstanding teams saw the Jedis narrowly overcome the Knights 32-25, the North West London based outfit will have learnt from that game and be ready to avenge the loss on the season’s biggest stage. Both teams come into the game in good form, playing their best basketball of the season when it matters the most, making it clear that anything can happen in this final game.
