Third seed London United take on sixth seed Tower Hamlets in this first round match up in the U12 Eastern Conference.
London United have played some of the best basketball in the division at times, this season and will go into the game as the heavy favourite. Zargar Adar (11.3ppg) and Aaquib Khan (8.2ppg) lead the West Londoner’s attack, but it the overall strength to the whole squad that has many observers backing United to go at least as far as the Conference Finals.
For Tower Hamlets the Valdez brothers, Benny and Leo, lead a spirited attack of young players who all have at least another year together in the U12 division – which bodes well for the future. However, Raven coach Carlos Borrego is ready to bring all of his young squads potential together right now: “We are a young team, but we have got better as the season went on. The playoff is a good test for us to see where we are right now against a well organised team and we look forward to the challenge”.
