Southwark Legends’ Kemari Bailey stole the game last weekend when he poured in a remarkable 29 points to help his side claim a 39-33 win over the Hackney Kings on Sunday 11th December 2016
Bailey, said, “Today is my first time playing in the CBL, and so it’s great to kick off my first season here with the win! It’s only right that I played my part, and show my competition what I am capable of.”
The game was fast-paced and exciting throughout, with Kings doing their best to overcome the Legends, shrinking the gap to trail behind by 4 points at the end of the half (17-13).
Kings’ Maliq Oke capitalised on every possession to stay in step with Bailey, racking up an impressive 21 points alone to outscore the Legends (9-11), and give his side a push in the third.
With both Bailey and Oke locked into the game that could have fallen either way, Bailey made sure to remain composed in order to finish strong.
“It’s a lot of fun playing in the CBL,” said Bailey, “I am confident my time and experience here will better me as a player, preparing me for the next steps going forward.”
