The Kennington Generals took home the convincing win of 49-29 over the Brent Ballers to advance to the Playoff Final where they’ll battle it out for the chance to win silverware as U18 Champions.
Considering they were starting without their big man, Tremont Deigh, the Kennington Generals knew they had to move on the glass and execute on the offensive side against a well drilled and experienced Brent Ballers team.
Kennington’s Andrew Lopez has been the best player on the team all season, but over the last few games, Ryan Del Reyes has been playing phenomenal and continued with good passing and rebounding as well as scoring the ball when needed.
Every player in the starting five did their job in the first five minutes, allowing the Generals to take control of the game.
But it was when the pocket rocket, Darnel Sharpe-Kelly, ignited their defensive intensity to another level and gave the Generals continuity on offence.
MVP, Sharpe-Kelly, said, “We’ve worked hard and deserve to be in the Final. We will go into the game with the same mentality that we had today in order to bring home the chip!”
Proud Coach Jay Williams, said, “I am really proud of how they all remained focused and followed the instructions. It was a great game and myself and the team look forward to another finals.”
