Access2Sports stung COHENEL Warriors by one point to finish 31-30 in what may have been one of the most competitive games of Sunday 8th January. Despite trailing behind for the majority of the game, A2S’s talented guard Samie Said came through in the clutch scoring 6 of his game high 15 points in the last 3 minutes of the game to grab the win by the tightest of margins. SIXERS GIRLS CAME TO PLAY IN OVERTIME THRILLER

The CBL remains the place to find the best in female basketball talent as both Haringey Sixers and Access2Sports proved ‘She’s Got Next’ in a thrilling over-time game that saw Haringey pinch the win by one point to win 19-18 on Sunday 11th December 2016. Haringey’s sharpshooter and MVP, Janai Wilson, displayed a fighter’s mentality, supplying 13 of her team’s 19points alone to help her side overcome Islington rivals. The Community Basketball League hosts the best in female talent, especially after Access2Sports and Tower Hamlets Ravens came to play in what was a thrilling game that saw A2S clinch a one-point win over the Ravens to triumph 12-11 on Sunday 27th November 2016. Brent continued their fine run of form with a hard-fought win against Access2Sports in the U18 Division with both Kunal Magar (13) and Leon Prapashtica (12) finishing in double digits to give the West Londoners the 45-39 edge on Sunday 4th December 2016. K&C CALL IT A KNIGHT AS ACCESS2SPORTS PREPARE FOR PLAYOFF FINAL

Access2Sports remain undefeated after they paced past the Kensington & Chelsea Knights to win 70-29 and settle their place in the much anticipated CBL Playoff Final 2016. The stars from Islington came out hot with sharpshooters’ Dreyshun Brown and Jason Prince hurting the Knights from outside as they continued to fire threes to gain a seven point lead (15-8) by the end of the first period. KENNINGTON END A2S WINNING STREAK TO MAKE CBL PLAYOFF SEMI FINAL

The Kennington Generals handled business last Sunday when they edged out the talented Access2Sports by 3 points to overcome with a runaway victory of 45-42 and advance to the CBL Playoff Semi Final happening this weekend. The first half saw Kennington storm into the lead with Ryan Delos-Reyes, Ade Adebayo and Travis Edwards all sinking threes to put their team in front 22-18 going into the third period. However, Access2Sports soon tightened up on the defensive end, allowing Jason Prince to find his way to the basket and bank 10 points, whilst Dreyshun Brown and J. Johnson both added 4 points each…

A2S STAY ON ROUTE TO CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS

Access2Sports continued their winning ways after beating Westside 32-27 on Sunday 22nd May 2016.  Islington’s star players, Jason Prince, finished with 9 points whilst team mate Dreyshun Brown chipped in with 10 points to help their team move closer to be crowned as this year’s CBL U14 Champions. However, with the score settled at a 5 point difference, this relatively small margin speaks volumes of Westside’s tenacity and defensive skill, both in this game and throughout their season. A SEVEN POINT WIN MOVES ACCESS2SPORTS CLOSER TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Last weekend’s match up between Access2Sports and Eastside Eagles was tightly contested and very competitive throughout with some great individual battles between Access2Sports’ Manie Joses and Eagles’ Oscar Striuga. Access2Sports’ Tyree Lindsey was a huge force inside that Eastside struggled to contain. The game remained tight right up until the fourth quarter where Manie Joses took over and continued his overall great performance, hitting some tough clutch shots and finishing with 15 points to seal out the win 42-35.

ACCESS2SPORTS U16 PICK UP WIN OVER HACKNEY TO REMAIN UNDEFEATED

Access2Sports (A2S) Under 16s remain undefeated after picking up another win of 66-12 against the Hackney Jedis on Sunday. The team from Islington put on a great show, banking 31 of their 66 points in the first quarter alone. Jason Prince came out firing by knocking down threes to rack up 11 points, followed by Xavier Rey-Edwards who added a further 9 to give their team a cushion going into the rest of the game. Access2Sports are having an impressive season this year given that they currently stand undefeated. But can the talented team pull this off until the end? Binesh Zamani definitely thinks so. “We’re hoping to achieve an undefeated season,” Binesh said. “We want to reign as champions in both the U16 and U18 division.” With talent, hard work and great coaching from Coach Justin Hitchman, Access2Sports seem well on their way to making it happen! DUNKS & DOUBLE DIGITS: ACCESS2SPORTS TAKE THE WIN OVER KENNINGTON GENERALS

The CBL is extremely proud to showcase the best in basketball talent across London, including the dynamic and extremely athletic Access2Sports (A2S) who continue to dominate their way through the league to secure yet another win of 53-46 over Kennington Generals on Sunday 28th February 2016. About Us

The Access to Sports Project is a community led, innovative sports development project that has historically worked across the London boroughs of Islington, Hackney & Haringey.

The project originally started off working in the Finsbury Park regeneration area 10 years ago with 1 full time staff member. Through a successful track record of project delivery and fundraising the Project now employs 14 full time and over 50 sessional members of staff. Access to Sports is an ‘on the ground’ organisation delivering responsive and relevant sports programmes in tune with local and national agendas.

Working with partners from the voluntary, community and statutory sectors Access to Sports delivers targeted programmes directly addressing some of the social and economical issues that effect London’s ‘hard to reach’ communities.

Developing partnerships strengthens the effectiveness of the projects delivered and creates sustainability in what we do.
