About Us

Brentwood Leopards was originally set up by Robert Youngblood and Debbie Sidwell.  Robert Youngblood is one of the most successful professional players in Britain, winning multiple championships with the London Leopards and the MK Lions.  Now focused on reinvesting his vast experience and expertise into the next generation, Youngblood continues to run the Leopards, alongside co-founder and club advisor, Debbie Sidwell.

Based in Essex, Greater London, the Leopards deliver basketball coaching in  a fun, exciting and energetic way.  We equip young people to make vital lifestyle choices which can lead to a long, healthy and active life with the emphasis placed firmly on the belief that regular participation in sport should be an integral component of their lives.

Our coaches and staff are dedicated to helping young individuals of all ages, levels and backgrounds  realise their true potential. We have a proven track record in providing expert basketball programmes that offer exciting and innovative drills, physical training and mental preparation. We recognise that no two basketball players are the same and we tailor our coaching to help individuals manage their weaknesses and play on their strengths. We pride ourselves in recruiting coaches who are some of the most knowledgeable and passionate instructors in UK basketball.  Many are ex-professionals who create an energetic and motivational environment that is like no other. We go the extra mile in supporting schools and complimenting existing in house sport and basketball programmes. We partner with Brentwood County High School which is where we train our Brentwood Leopards teams and play home matches.

We currently run two national league teams and two regional league teams and we have just registered 3 more national league team for the 2015/16 season, which includes an under 14s girls team.  We welcome new players to join us as we move forward in developing basketball throughout the region.
